PASADENA, MD – The Pasadena Business Association will be hosting its 25th Annual Thanksgiving Parade this Sunday. Establishments will collect food donations for pantries during the event. Some roads will be closed this afternoon.
“The theme of the parade is to express the true spirit of the holidays, to be grateful for what we have and to share with those less fortunate in our community,” the business association said on its website.
The festivities will include:
- Local businesses
- Community groups
- Youth sports teams
- Fire companies
- More organizations
Planners will give out prizes for these tanks:
- Better entry into business
- Most patriotic entry
- Best youth group entry
- Best musical entry or performance
- Best community entry
- Most original entry
The parade begins at 2 p.m. at Tick Neck Park next to Northeast High School. Participants will walk down Tick Neck Road and turn right onto Mountain Road. The peloton will then turn right onto Outing Avenue. The course ends at Northeast Middle School.
The Anne Arundel County Police Department said it will close these roads from approximately 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Tick Neck Road between Edwin Raynor Boulevard and Mountain Road
- Mountain Road between Tick Neck Road and Outing Avenue
- Outing Avenue between Northeast Middle School and Mountain Road
Agents will be on hand to help with traffic. Authorities have warned drivers to expect delays along the route and in surrounding streets.
